Today We Come Together to pay tribute to our Seniors and Honor Our Band Members. This past year will be remembered for our great performances.
Our band has grown and matured and become a stronger band. I want everyone to know that we care about all of you and WE LOVE OUR BAND FAMILY! The Band of Blue has been very successful this year and we have so much to be proud of. We are looking forward to 2025 and continuing to grow and doing our best next year for Colleton County!
I am so proud of OUR parents that have stepped up to make the Band of Blue Senior Class of 2025 feel so special. Thank you for everything you have done this year!
This year's Band of Blue had an outstanding year!! We challenged our students to continue to be a better BAND. CONNECTIONS was a TRULY A CROWD favorite. We put on a GREAT marching band show. WE proved that good music and great visual concepts equal an outstanding performance. We were ALL CONNECTED! We performed for our parents and friends at halftime at five home football games. We started out contest season with a GREAT showing and 2nd place finish at Midland Valley and that set the tone for the season. We were DIFFERENT and we sent an early message that this was not your ordinary marching band show! Unfortunately we had a bad tropical system cancel the Walterboro Band Classic this year. We bounced back and went on and marched at the Coastal Empire Classic in Effingham Georgia the next week and earned 1st place and won high color guard. We then traveled to Richmond Hill, Georgia and won the South Georgia Marching Band Championship. The next week we got better and stronger and won our class at the South Effingham Mustang Classic. Finally it was State Contest week, and it was all on the line. Lower State and State would be held in a one day event. We went on mid day and had an outstanding prelims performance and placed 4th overall and 2nd in Lower State. After a long day of waiting, we went on that night to perform and placed 5th in the state in 4A. This was the highest ranking the Band of Blue has finished since 2005. Earning a TOP 5 ranking and being a finalist in Class 4A every year since 1976 is quite an accomplishment. That’s a record that most band programs can and will NEVER obtain.

OUR BAND year after year, and time after time, IS a consistent winning program. Thank you for your dedication to our community and the traditions that the Band of Blue has shown our community for over 50 years. THANK YOU TO the fans and parents that love this band! After the marching season several people and directors stated that CONNECTIONS was what a marching band show should be. It was interactive and FUN. IT had a great message that resonated with the audience. The genuine respect and love that our students earn from other programs is a testament to the support and backing from our parents and community here in Colleton County. Thank you again to our booster club for making sure we looked professional, we were well fed and nurtured and loved at every performance. BAND OF BLUE We are SO proud of you!
